Kenyans talk about Tanzania’s move to ban foreign nationals to open 15 types of business in Dodoma

• The Tanzanian government has set up a fence of certain types of business for locals in the country to open and run them
• President Samia Solution’s administration banned foreign nationals including Kenyans starting the businesses
• The order issued by the Minister of Industry and Commerce of Tanzania, Selemani Jafo, drew the attention of many Kenyans on the Internet, who have had different views

Kenyans have made their comments online after the government of Tanzania freeze some businesses for locals.

President Samia Suluhu’s administration issued a directive to prevent foreign nationals from opening 15 types of business.

Why Tanzania banned non -locals opening some of the businesses

The order issued on Monday, July 28, by the Minister of Industry and Commerce of Tanzania, Selemani Jafo, aimed to protect local traders against foreign competition.

Jafo noted that the order was issued following concerns by Tanzanian citizens that some foreigners are chasing them commercially and thus accelerating unemployment in the country.
