During the interview with NTV On Sunday, July 20, Raila was asked if he would run for president in 2027.
Will Raila Odinga run for 2027 presidency?
The ODM leader did not give a direct answer but confirmed that he supported the President’s government William Ruto Until 2027.
The opposition leader emphasized that it was too early to discuss the 2027 presidential election, Raila said he is currently in a hybrid government for the next two years.
“I did not say that I will be running (presidency 2027). We are in 2025, and it is too early to talk about 2027. UDA After 2027, ” Said Raila.
The veteran politician said his goal at the moment was to strengthen the ODM party, and added that he was ready to support another candidate for the top leadership position.
Commenting on the statements of some of his allies who announced Ruto’s support for the 2027 election, Raila said ODM leaders have the freedom to express their personal views.
“I don’t have to run for president, I can support someone else. I am now satisfied with efforts to organize my ODM party as a political party. Those in ODM who talk about supporting William Ruto in 2027 are talking on their personal behalf, and they have that right,” He said.

Will Raila Odinga support Kalonzo in 2027?
Regarding the goal of running for the presidency of Wiper leader, Kalonzo Musyoka, Raila said he was still friends with the former vice president.
The opposition leader revealed that Kalonzo had not yet officially asked him to support him before the 2027 general election.
“Steve and Steve (Kalonzo Musyoka) are friends, we cooperate in a number of things and I respect him very much. He has not asked for my help (for presidential candidacy in 2027),” Said the ODM leader.
Can Ruto support Raila in 2027?
Meanwhile, ODM Secretary -General Edwin Sifuna advised President Ruto to withdraw from the 2027 presidential race and support Raila.
Sifuna, whose position on the cooperation between Ruto and Raila is no secret, has continued to oppose the Kenyan government first.
On May 31, Sifuna said that the Ruto government started working effectively only after it involved the former Prime Minister.
