The Criminal Investigation Department (DCI) has exposed the victim of a patient at the Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH).

Edward Mungi Ndegwa, 50, was killed in his hospital bed on Thursday afternoon, July 17.
After being informed of the murder, officers of DCI They arrived at the scene and started an investigation.
A suspect identified by the name of Kennedy Kalombotole was arrested.
According to DCI, Kalombotole was sick in KNH and was lying in a ward near the late.
In the discovery, DCI revealed that the suspect was responsible for the murder of another patient, the late Gilbert Kinyua, in February.
Intelligence officials stated that the suspect was admitted to KNH on December 1, 2024 and his hospitalization was not revealed.
Two months after being admitted, Kalombotole allegedly killed Kinyua.
The late 40 -year -old was found bleeding with symptoms of a knife in the neck.
“Preliminary investigations show that Kennedy Kalombotole was admitted to the center on December 1, 2024, and is the main suspect in the murder of Gilbert Kinyua Muthoni, 40, who was killed in the 7C ward on the night of 6 and 7 February 2025,” DCI said.
It was revealed in a statement by DCI that after the Kinyua murder, Kalombotle was never placed under police protection, while investigations were underway.
He remained in the hospital while the Kinyua massacre disappeared from the public until Thursday, when the massacre was reported.
Defending, DCI explained why Kalombotole had not yet been charged.
The detectives said after the investigation was completed they sent their report to the Office of the Director General of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) for another action.
However, the ODPP did not accept the file, demanding further investigation to be made to create heavy cases against the suspect.
Kalombotole was detained after the second murder.
“Following the incident, a case case was created and submitted to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP). However, after reviewing the file, the ODPP instructed the investigating officer to conduct further investigations to increase force in the prosecutor’s case.
