Lang’ata MP Felix Odiwuor, a famous Jalang’o, has sparked strong political feelings after announcing that Embakasi East MP East Grandpa Owino He is ready to win the governorship seat in Nairobi 2027.
According to Jalang’o, Grandpa has everything he needs to get rid of him Johnson Sakajathe head of the current county, but only if the two will avoid the split.
Referring to the future of ODM politics in Nairobi, Jalang’o called on Sakaja and Grandpa to conduct sincere talks and agree who is eligible to fly the party’s flag.
He cautioned that if they both compete, the next division could benefit the opponent from Mount Kenya, especially supported by former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua and his new Democracy For Citizens Party (DCP).
Jalang’o emphasized that Kenya’s political practices remain ethnic, and warned that united ethnic groups have the potential to turn the leadership of the capital.
“It will be very difficult. Remember I told you that politics is ethnic. There are times when tribes can gather to get someone back home, or gather to fight for one thing,” said Jalang’o.
He indicated that if both grandparents and Sakaja competed, their basis for collective support could be broken, leaving the door open for the outside person to win with a collective support.
“Today, if Grandpa and Sakaja compete, they both have the spirit of ODM and his candlestick Raila Odinga. They will divide the ballot, and if there is a candidate from Mount Kenya, they will first be governor, “he added.
However, the Lang’ata MP held that if Grandfather bought for ODM tickets, he might emerge the winner.
Even without a formal approval by the party, he believes the grandfather’s influence and youth support will make him a major competitor in the race.
“If the grandfather is given an ODM ticket, I tell you today the grandfather will be the governor of Nairobi,” Jalang’o said confidently. “And even if he doesn’t get a ticket, he will have many challenges.”
Looking forward, Jalang’o suggested that Grandfather could serve one term as governor before making a way for others and finally running for the presidency 2032.
He said the next generation of leaders, including the Grandfather and MP for Kiharu Ndindi Nyoro, would change the future of the country during the second term of the President William Ruto When you are completed.
