The party, linked to former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, criticized Raila for what he described as a hypocritical defense of allegations of government violence during a recent Gen-Z protest.

The strong statement was signed by deputy party leader Cleophas Malalah. Focused on Raila’s remarks against the president’s order William Ruto The “shooting or injury”, accusing the veteran leader of the opposition trying to refrain from the actions of the government he is now.

Why do the DCP accuse Raila and call him a hypocrite?

According to the DCP, Raila cannot separate himself from the complex security decisions made under the Ruto administration, as he has publicly supported and reconciled himself to the government Kenya first.

The party questioned that his involvement in government affairs would make him responsible for human rights violations reported against Gen-Z protesters.

“Raila’s claims are really unacceptable, unhealthy and conflicting. As a full member of the current administration, he is directly responsible for his actions and is therefore responsible for facilitating allegations of human rights violations implemented under the authority of President Ruto,” The statement read.

The DCP continued to accuse Raila and his party of not only supporting but actively participating in suppressing the opposition.

The statement claimed that the youths joining ODM helped police officers disperse the protesters in peace, causing injuries, damage to property and severe chaos.

The party criticized ODM’s silence on these issues, especially when some of its senior members openly supported the government’s serious tactics without facing internal disciplinary measures.

“ODM prominent supporters, including elected officials, have publicly approved the government’s repression measures, including the murder orders mentioned above, without being criticized by party leadership,” The party added.

What does the DCP answer mean to Raila’s political position?

The DCP suggested that Raila’s defamation for government force could be a desperate attempt to save his appearance among Kenyans, especially young people, who have accused him of abandoning his reform ideology.

“These rehabilitation efforts have not been clearly visible for its continued involvement in a government that is causing Kenyans to suffer, including kidnapping, torture and arbitrary killings,” The statement said.

Malalah went on to claim that Raila’s support for the UDA-Hodm treaty, even if it allegedly violated its original administrative agenda, removes the moral basis for criticizing government abuse.

“We emphasize that Mr Odinga’s involvement and government repression are a betrayal of public faith,” Said the complaint.

He added that it was high time for Raila to separate himself and give leaders who are genuinely interested in the people.

The DCP response comes when the government faces fierce opposition to police brutality, kidnapping and murder during The procession across the country.
