Ekitike, 23, has emerged as a prime target, and Newcastle are reportedly willing to compete with the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea, and Manchester United for his signature. However, acquiring the Frenchman will come at a steep price. His contract includes an £86 million release clause, a figure Newcastle may have to match.
Howe has been a long-time admirer of Ekitike, having previously attempted to sign him in 2022. Ekitike opted for Paris Saint-Germain at the time, prompting Newcastle to acquire Isak for £68 million.
Newcastle have reportedly informed Ekitike’s representatives of their renewed interest and outlined their ambition to bring him to St. James’ Park. They are also exploring the possibility of negotiating a fee with Frankfurt.
