Migori: A woman who disappeared after using her brother KSh 40k found dead in the river

Where was Hilda Otieno found?

Kanyasrega Assistant Chief Ezekiel Kokeyo confirmed the incident, saying police in the area had already initiated an investigation.

Kokeyo mentioned that the deceased’s family reported that Hilda had disappeared from her home in Nairobi for several days before her body was discovered.

The local administrator noted that, although the cause of death has not yet been identified, preliminary investigations show that the deceased may have given his life.

Why did the deceased give his brother KSh 40,000?

According to Citizen Digital, the deceased was struggling with depression after the death of her husband.

A close family member revealed that the 38 -year -old woman sent KSh 40,000 to her younger brother in Nairobi a few days before she disappeared.

He allegedly ordered his younger brother, ordering him to take care of his children before he disappeared.

However, detectives are trying to determine how he traveled to Migori County where he was found dead.

Was Jane Wambui Njoge killed?

In other sad news, Jane Wambui Njoroge, a nurse at Naivasha County referral hospital, was found dead.

In a statement, the Criminal Investigation Department (DCI) said Wambui’s body was found buried outside his house in the Karai area.

According to DCIYaya, 30, Mary Chebet, is considered the chief suspect of her employer’s brutal murder.

Wambui’s husband had reported to police that his wife, who works at Naivasha County Hospital, disappeared on July 4 2025, after leaving work back home.

Chebet was arrested, and after being severely interviewed, the suspect led the officers to the victim’s home in Karai.

At the home of his employer, the suspect exposed a terrible incident, including a deep grave behind the house where Wambui’s body was buried in a deep grave behind the house.

With the help of public health officials, the body was released with pieces of clothing tied around the neck of the victim.
