Doreen’s husband left when he was unemployed and was in a state of weakness, pregnant with their fifth child.
She had not worked for a long time since she was a housewife and a volunteer wife.
Speaking via the YouTube channel of Romantic Mukiga, the mother of five described the events that caused her marriage to be broken, narrating about the emotional abuse she went through before her husband left her.
“You may have a partner who is not physically abusing, but he is hitting you emotionally. This relative hit me with words such as, ‘you are stupid’, I thought you had a mind but you did not. ‘ He remembered.
But the words that burned his heart were when he said that he had made a bounty for her to marry her.
“He said that I ruined his life and that he was not ready for marriage, but I rushed to get pregnant. He said, ‘You got me in this marriage, I didn’t want it. He narrated.
The mother of five said her husband had intentionally prepared to leave the marriage, until she told her what the name was to give the baby still in the womb.
Doreen’s journey to be a caregiver’s mother
After her husband left her, Doreen and her children, including a newborn, drowned in great poverty.
He narrated how they spent several days without food and had to pray.
“It’s easy for a person to love you with one child, but with five, it’s not easy. I was rejected everywhere,“He said as he burst into tears.
They relied on the remains of food from the market and slept in the mall councils because he had no work, since her husband had forbidden her to work.
Doreen said that she had not heard anything from her husband until 12 years later.
“One day, I bought a gift to my children and told them they came from their father.“He remembered.
Despite the challenges, the mother was able to forgive her husband after attending a church service where she received a healing message.
“Although I was able to forgive him, there were times when I was upset when I remembered some of the things he did,” She said, adding that her first child is now 20 years old.
