Veteran Tanzanian musician Raymond Mwakyusa, widely known as Rayvanny, has put out a call for a standout underground artiste to feature on his upcoming beat.
Taking to his official Instagram account on Friday, July 4, 2025, Rayvanny disclosed his desire to work with an upcoming artiste, stating that he has an amazing beat which he has been listening to and realised he could not collaborate with a well-established musician.
The Bongo Flava icon added that what he wanted was one outstanding new or underground musician to feature in the project.
In addition, the Sensema hitmaker asked his fans for help in identifying the most talented rising star he should collaborate with.
“Kuna beat moja kali sana hapa nimewazaaa nikaoνα siwezi imba na msanii yoyote anaejulikana humu nataka madogo vapya/underground mmoja mkali niue nae,” Rayvanny said.
“Niambie msanii gani chipukizi mkali niue nae.”
Loosely translates as: “There is an amazing beat here. I listened to it and realised I can’t sing with any well-known artist. What I want is one outstanding new or underground artist. Tell me which hot rising star I should link up with.”
Rayvanny’s music career
Rayvanny rose to fame in 2016 after he signed with Diamond Platnumz’s powerhouse label, WCB Wasafi Records, and released his debut single, “Kwetu”, which quickly became an East African hit
That same year, he earned a nomination at the MTV Africa Music Awards for Breakthrough Act.
In 2017, the Next Level Music (NLM) recording label CEO made history at the BET Awards, winning Viewer’s Choice for Best International Act, he was the first Tanzanian artist to do so.
Over the years, he has been producing hit after hit, his track “Mama Tetema, a remix with Maluma, won Best Global Collaboration at the East Africa Entertainment Awards and was included on Maluma’s Grammy-nominated Don Juan album.
