Shock in Kisii as Man Allegedly Eats Wife, Serves Remains to Children and Visitors

Nyacheki villagers in Bobasi, Kisii County, are still in shock and horror after a man is said to have murdered his wife and eaten some of her remains.

The suspect, whose name is given only as Ogoro, went even further, it is alleged, by feeding his wife’s body parts to his two young children, as per local authorities.

One of the villagers explained that Ogoro would present guests with meat, and nobody ever suspected that he had been presenting guests with human meat.

Authorities also revealed that Ogoro had a dark history. He is said to have killed his first wife before he married the woman he killed in the recent incident. Residents claimed that he had displayed signs of mental illness and had drug addiction issues, which might have resulted in his violent actions.

On Tuesday, people’s shock was followed by outrage. The locals pounced on Ogoro. Armed with crude weapons, they brutally killed him and then set his body ablaze at the crime scene.

“We were too shocked to understand what we saw. It’s like something out of a horror movie,” said a shaken John Omobasi, one of the villagers.

Wife’s Body Found in Sack Months After Disappearance

News has it that Ogoro murdered his wife two months ago. Her sudden vanishing act had left the community puzzled, but no one could have imagined the motive would be so chilling. Her decomposing remains were found hidden in a bag inside the couple’s bedroom, this week.

Nyangusu police officers later arrived at the scene and moved both bodies – Ogoro’s and that of his wife – to Nyamache for preservation awaiting further action.

Forensic officers are to carry out a post-mortem and DNA test to verify the gruesome claims of cannibalism.

Local leaders have since demanded calm in the community and demanded that law enforcers handle the matter professionally after the occurrence.

“We understand the public outrage, but taking the law into your own hands only worsens the situation,” said the area chief.
