Parts of Bungoma, Nyeri, and Kilifi Counties will on Saturday, July 5, 2025, experience a temporary blackout, Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) has announced.
The utility firm, in a public notice shared on Friday, July 4, 2025, stated that the blackout was part of scheduled maintenance work on its distribution network.
Bungoma County
Parts of Bungoma County that will be affected by the scheduled power maintenance are areas around United Millers in Webuye and the Webuye Jaggery.
According to Kenya Power, the specific areas in Webuye that will be affected are Munyikana, Mwalim House, Section of Dinah, United Millers, Molo, Santa Barbra, Malaha, Sirisia, Bunjosi, Webuye Jaggery, Noah Wekesa, and adjacent areas.
The blackout is set to last from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.

Nyeri County
Parts of Nyeri County that will be affected are areas around Kiriani town.
The specific areas to be hit with the blackout are Kiriani Mission Hospital, Mathioya Sub-County Offices, Equity Bank, KCB Bank, Family Bank, Kiaguthu Boys, Kiru Boys, Kiru C/Fact, Mairo market, Kanjama market, Umui market, and adjacent areas.
This blackout is set to last from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Kilifi County
In Kilifi, the Tezo area will be affected. According to Kenya Power, Mtondia, Tezo, Chumani, Roka, and adjacent areas will experience the blackout that is set to last from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
