Miguna, the biggest misery of the former minister, cited previous legal disputes and human rights violations committed under Matiang’i’s leadership as evidence that the former minister is not eligible to hold a public office.
The critic’s lawyer referred to the 2018 events, he was forced to compulsory to Canada by the Kenyan government under the Matiang’i order.
Why was Miguna Miguna deported?
According to an announcement made by Matiang’i on February 6, 2018, Miguna was considered ‘not a Kenyan citizen’ and his presence in the country was said to be contrary to the national interest.
The order ordered Miguna to be stopped waiting to be transported to Canada, his second citizenship.
The move followed the involvement of Miguna and the National Resistance Movement (NRM) movement, which Matiang’i referred to as a criminal organization.
Miguna was placed in a KLM plane to Canada via Amsterdam that night.
The Ministry of the Interior later claimed that he violated the former Constitution for failing to expose his Canadian citizenship while applying for a Kenyan passport in 2009.
Miguna and his team of lawyers opposed the move, noting that dual citizenship has been protected since the 2010 constitutional reform.
Why does Miguna Miguna oppose Matiang’i?
After Matiang’i confirmed his request, Miguna recalled his misery, claiming that government agents had kidnapped, tortured, calming him and dismissing him home while unconscious.
“The Constitution of Kenya concerns me as it concerns you and each of us. Violations of my rights, such as Miguna, or the rights of any of us, are a violation of the rights of all Kenyans and violations of the Constitution. Matiang’i! ‘, ”He wrote.
Miguna warned that those who violated the constitution and violated human rights should not be allowed to lead the country.
“Matiang’i remains a prisoner and should not hold a public office,” Miguna said.

Was Miguna’s dismissal illegal?
In a statement of strong emotion, Miguna cited a series of court decisions that declared his revelation to be illegal.
He referred to the Supreme Court’s decision on December 14, 2018, in the case of Miguna Miguna against Fred Okeng’o Matiang’i & 6 others, where Judge Chacha Mwita decided that the government had acted unconstitutional.
Earlier, on March 28 and 29, 2018, Judge George Odunga convicted and sentenced Matiang’i, former Inspector General Joseph Boinnet, and former Director of Immigration Gordon Kihalangwa for contempt of court, citing repeatedly violating court orders.
