Celebrity barber Sam Kilonzo, popularly known as Sam Kitiki, has issued a heartfelt message to Kenyans, urging them to savour life in its abundance, just weeks after making a public appeal for support following a cancer diagnosis.
In a post shared on his TikTok platform on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, Sam noted that he has come to the profound realisation that every phase in life is fleeting and urged Kenyans to embrace the fullness of joy whenever life favours them, without hesitation or delay.
“Everything is temporary in life. So when life is good, make sure you enjoy and receive it fully,” he wrote, offering his reflections like one who has walked through fire and come out wiser on the other side.
On the same note, Sam offered a word of counsel for those going through turbulent times, stating that even when life seems harsh or unforgiving, it is essential to remember that difficult days are never eternal.
He encouraged Kenyans to hold steadfastly to hope, reminding them that brighter chapters are always on the horizon.
“And when life is not good, remember that it will not last forever and better days are on the way,” he noted, his words ringing with the clarity of a man who has stared hardship in the eye and chosen faith over despair.

Sam first revealed the news of his ailment on March 20, 2025, disclosing that he had been admitted to St Scholastica Ulinzi Hospital after his condition significantly deteriorated.
He announced that he had been diagnosed with stage three stomach cancer and was due for an urgent surgery that required Ksh145,000, prompting him to appeal to the public and his loyal clientele for assistance.
At the time, he directed a heartfelt plea to his clients — including Kenyan artiste Masauti, whom he referred to as one of his favourites — asking for any form of support, describing himself as being at his lowest and noting that even the smallest gesture would mean the world to him.
“To my esteemed clients and friends, I have been admitted at St Scholastica Ulinzi since Monday and am due for surgery tomorrow. I need your help to raise 145K for the surgery. Kindly help,” he wrote, baring his vulnerability with honesty and courage.
In the accompanying video, Sam appeared visibly frail, having lost considerable weight — a stark contrast from his once robust and towering figure—prompting a flood of warm wishes and prayers from concerned fans and followers across platforms.

He is currently undergoing chemotherapy as part of his cancer treatment.
Sam, who rose to popularity by showcasing his barbering craft on TikTok, has previously offered grooming services to celebrated artistes, including Tanzanian Bongo Flava star Rayvanny, Kenyan media personality Kamene Goro, and singer Masauti, among others, solidifying his name as a barber to the stars.
