INJECT party leader Morara Kebaso has issued a resounding challenge to Kenya’s youth, urging them to transcend the role of mere protestors and embrace their potential as leaders capable of steering the nation’s future.
In a pointed message on his X account on Tuesday, June 1, 2025, he called on young Kenyans to foster mutual support and growth rather than engaging in the destructive practice of pulling each other down.
“The youth of Kenya need to know that they are not just protestors; they can also be leaders,” he said.
Morara’s remarks come amid growing concerns about the persistent reliance on retired political figures to address contemporary challenges, a trend he decried as symptomatic of a deeper failure among the youth to seize their own political agency.
“What happened to you? Are you not capable?” he questioned, underscoring the urgent need for a generational shift in leadership dynamics.
He insisted that the youth must recognise their capacity to assume political power and responsibility, warning against the cyclical tendency to depend on seasoned politicians who have long exited the political arena.
According to Morara, this reliance not only stifles youthful ambition but also undermines the prospects of meaningful, homegrown change.
“Start growing each other to take political power. Stop pulling each other down, and then you go and drag old men from retirement to come and fix your country. What happened to you? Are you not capable?”
Morara, who recently claimed he had quit politics, stressed that the time has come for young Kenyans to cultivate one another’s talents, nurture leadership skills, and build solidarity that transcends petty rivalries.
He described this as essential for the emergence of a new cadre of leaders who can effectively address the country’s pressing socio-political issues.
“Youths of Kenya, you can also be leaders. What happened to you?”

Quitting politics
The latest remarks by the civic educator come barely days after he clarified how he plans to manage the assets contributed by Kenyans in support of his political activities.
This came moments after he announced his exit from active politics, despite his ambitious plan of running for presidency in 2027.
Taking to his official X account on the night of Monday, June 23, 2025, Morara stated that all the assets that were contributed by Kenyans of goodwill, which are currently in his possession, will be handed over to the capable INJECT leadership.
INJECT leadership
According to Morara, the new leadership will continue with the dream of building a political party that gives a chance to young people, and Kenyans will soon hear from them after they meet.
“I am aware that there are assets in my possession that were contributed by Kenyans of goodwill. I will hand over the assets to the capable INJECT leadership, who will continue with the dream of building a political party that gives a chance to young people. You can expect to hear from them soon after they meet,” Morara stated.

The most notable assets that Kenyans contributed towards the activities of Morara are a Land Cruiser vehicle and a public address system.
Morara further argued that during the short period he has been in politics, he has only carried anger and pain.
“The Lord our God gives favour to men according to His will. He gave me a moment in the spotlight, and I did my best with it. But in the process, I have carried anger and pain. So much so that if I do not destroy something, it will definitely destroy me. I cannot do it anymore. We are 55 million of us; surely there is no shortage of leaders. I am ready to cheer, support, advise, console, and contribute financially,” Morara wrote on X.
