Tanzanian artiste Juma Jux has publicly dismissed claims that he took out loans to fund his recently concluded multi-day wedding celebrations, saying the rumours are nothing more than empty noise.

The singer clarified that he is financially stable, runs multiple business ventures, and would never resort to borrowing money simply to impress anyone.

Speaking to a local Tanzanian radio station on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, the ‘Ololufe Mi’ hitmaker stated that those spreading the claims, including one particular media personality, were simply creating stories for attention and should not be taken seriously.

He emphasised that his weddings were funded through personal resources and support from close friends, including fellow artiste Diamond Platnumz, who contributed significantly.

“That is not true at all. Those are just stories. That person who said such things should not be taken seriously. I did not borrow any money, not even a single coin. I am a businessman, and there is no way I would borrow funds just to conduct a wedding. That is not part of who I am,” Jux said.

Jux and his partner, Nigerian influencer Priscilla Ojo, held three distinct wedding ceremonies.

The first was a cultural event in Tanzania, followed by a glamorous white wedding in Nigeria, and finally, a family welcome ceremony back in Dar es Salaam.

The three events, though separate, were deeply symbolic for the couple and their families, and Jux maintained that each was necessary for cultural and personal reasons.

“Yes, the weddings were many. That is true. There was one in Tanzania, and it was a traditional one, which was absolutely necessary because I was visiting her family with my people. On their side, they were handling all the arrangements, but even with that, the costs on my end were quite high. We travelled in a group of over seventy people, and we stayed for more than a week, so the expenses really added up. It was not a simple affair,” he explained.

When asked about claims that the entire wedding affair surpassed one Tsh1 billion, Jux chose to avoid confirming or denying the figure.

He said his focus was never on counting costs but rather on celebrating love in its truest and most respectful form.

“I never calculated how much was spent. I did not approach the wedding with a budget in mind. My decision was simple—whatever needs to be done, I will cover the cost. That was my approach. What mattered to me more than anything else was the happiness of that moment, not the figure involved,” he said.

He went on to reveal that Diamond Platnumz, his long-time friend and colleague in the music industry, supported him generously.

According to Jux, Diamond contributed more than Tsh70 million [approximately Ksh3 million] towards the celebrations, a gesture he said meant more to him than words could express.

“My friends stood by me. Diamond alone gave me more than seventy million Kenyan shillings. I was overwhelmed with gratitude. These are not people I had to beg or explain to. They just understood and came through for me,” Jux added.

The singer also disclosed that there had been plans for a fourth ceremony in Rwanda, the country where he and Priscilla first met.

However, those plans were eventually shelved after Priscilla became emotionally and physically overwhelmed by the scale and pressure of the previous events.

“We had thought about doing one more in Rwanda because that is where our story began, but honestly, she was already too drained. The three weddings had taken a toll on her, and I had to respect that,” he said.
