Celebrated Kenyan artist and rapper Khaligraph Jones has hit back at fans who questioned why his recent music videos from the album ‘The Book of Jones’  are all shot at his new luxurious mansion.

In a video statement on June 30, 2025, on Instagram, the rapper addressed critics who suggested he was playing it safe or cutting corners by filming multiple videos in the same location, his own home.

“I have been receiving direct messages from fans asking, ‘ Why are you shooting music videos in your house? You need to change location; you need to be serious. We have noticed that all your videos are being shot in the same location,” he said.

The “Mazishi” hitmaker went on to explain that he had faced disrespect and humiliation in the past while filming in other people’s properties.

“The belittlement I encountered while shooting videos at other people’s houses? I have shot music videos all over the world, including in the United States, South Africa, Nigeria, Australia, and many other locations. Do you think I’m going to let you take my money? No,” he posed.

According to him, the criticism is misplaced, especially coming from people who don’t understand the hard work and sacrifices behind his success.

His already released music videos that have brought about the criticism include Goshoree, On The Real, and They Gotta Be Wrong.
