A cloud of sadness has hit a family in the village of Ngusero, Kilimanjaro, Tanzaniafollowing a fatal road accident that resulted in the deaths of their four relatives.

The family, along with their six tenants, were traveling to Moshi to attend their relative’s wedding when the accident occurred.

What caused the Kilimanjaro accident?

According to Citizen Digital, the accident involved a small bus carrying wedding guests and a Chanel One bus heading to Moshi from Tanga.

The two cars collided face -to -face and exploded while passengers were still inside.

Sadly, a total of 38 people lost their lives, while 29 others were injured in the accident in the Sabasaba area of ​​Same.

Kilimanjaro Regional Commissioner, Nurdin Babu, confirmed the incident, noting that 24 people were rushed to Same District Hospital, while five others were directed to the KCMC Referral Hospital and the Mawenzi Regional Hospital.

Abdallah Kiluvia, one of the families who lost four relatives and six tenants in the crash, said that 98 percent of the bodies were burned to the fire.

Kiluvia explained that the tragedy was a major blow to the whole family as they lost not only their relatives but also the six tenants who had accompanied them for the wedding.

“I lost my brother, his wife, their two children, and two other family members. They were all heading to my nephew’s wedding when the accident happened just about 3 kilometers from the city of Same. Said the Kiluvia.

He said that they have acknowledged that it is God’s will and are now awaiting the results of DNA tests to help identify the bodies and give them a funeral of honor in accordance with Islamic procedures.

Ramadan Kiluvia, who lost his mother and younger brother, said he was in Moshi preparing for the evening wedding and was waiting for his mother and other relatives to arrive.

“They started their journey at 10 o’clock in the evening and we were eagerly waiting for them. When I received a phone call I was told that the car carrying my family was involved in the accident. Said Ramadan.

The first child of the family remembered her last conversation with her mother before the trip.

“I am the first child and I was already in the wedding hall. Mom told me she would come with my two little ones, but now they are both dead,” she added bitterly.
