Nyali MP Mohammed Ali has gone against his United Democratic Alliance (UDA), and strongly criticized the local security minister Kipchumba Murkomen.

This follows the recent order of the Minister for the national police service to kill by shooting.
Ali’s criticism came just 24 hours after Murkomen authorized police officers to use force against anyone approaching police stations or trying to interfere with government machinery.
The minister, addressing officials on June 26, said the lawmakers have the right to protect themselves and the institutions they serve, especially from The procession The June 25 which saw some protesters raiding police stations.

Ali, who gained fame as a journalist before he entered politics, accused the government of beating the police against its citizens.
The Nyali representative further warned that brutal forces would not solve Kenya’s deep problems.

Recently appearing to withdraw from the ruling party, Ali suggested that Kenyans are disappointed and no force will bring them back to support the government.
“The government should never arrest the police against the people, because the force built on the shooting is only temporary, when the people are not with you, even the gun will not save you,” he added.
Why did Murkomen praised the police?
Earlier, Murkomen congratulated the police for reliably addressing the Gen Z protest on June 25, praising their efforts to prevent what he described as a coup attempt aimed at the White House and Parliament.
He said the officers worked under high pressure and assured them of full government support, including legal protection, claiming no one used excessive force.
Murkomen defended the use of guns, saying that when officials were faced with threats, such as attacks against weapons warehouses or attempts to grab a gun, they had the right to protect themselves.
