Nyandarua has sank into sadness following the sudden death of Beth Wahito, a special MP for the County Assembly (MCA), who passed away in a fatal road accident on the Nairobi -Nakuru highway.

What killed Beth Wahito?

His car collided with the bus Guardian Angel Shortly after 6pm on Sunday, June 22.

A few hours before his death, he published ‘Ndathii Mutitu,’ Kikuyu phrase which means ‘I’m going to the forest.’

News of the sudden death of the Hites has been received in shock and sadness throughout the county.

What was the political life of Beth Wahito?

Throughout his prominent life, he served as a councilor in the dead council of Nyandarua County and was a special member of the first and third parliamentary constituencies in Nyandarua County.

He was known for his courage, his unstable commitment, and many efforts to lift the unworthy in his community.

Wahito held various leadership positions in several political parties, including Democratic Party (DP) and Narc-Kenya, where he served as Nyandarua County Chairman.

He was a great advocate for justice, justice, gender equality and good governance. Recently, he served as Kinangop State Coordinator for the Democratic Union (UDA) and was a member of the Administrative Council of the County Conferences Forum, where he led the image of Caucus -Mandarua women.

At the meeting, he contributed significantly to his responsibilities as Vice -Chairman of the Health Services Committee and as a member of several other key committees, including public functions, roads, transport, housing and energy; Membership of members, catering, and libraries; and the Special Financial Accounts Committee.

Beyond her public service, Wihito was a loving mother, a caregiver of many, and a proud bride. His excitement, the spirit of fearlessness, and his tireless dedication of his community have left a lasting legacy.

The Speaker of the Nyandarua County Parliament Waiganjo issued condolences on behalf of Parliament, his family, friends and citizens of Njabini Kiburu and Kinangop.

“We respect the life life of the Hites and the unparalleled courage. His soul rest in eternal peace,” He said.

Controversial preacher Gilbert Deya dies in a road accident

Other Information: Preacher Gilbert Deya has died following a fatal road accident in Kapiyo area in the city Kisumu.

The tragic accident involved Moi University bus, a Siaya County government car, and Deya’s car.

Deya lost control of his car and turned to the university bus path. In a face -to -face -to -face -to -face movement, the bus driver left the road, but the Deya car collided with the county car.

Several Moi University students suffered injuries during the incident and was rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment.

Have road accidents increased or decreased?

Recent statistics from the National Transport and Security Authority (NTSA) show that 1,139 people died in road accidents between January and March 2025, compared with the 1,166 deaths recorded during the same period in 2024.

However, a broad analysis involving June 2024 to March 2025 shows that deaths increased by 10% from 3,22 to 3,581 compared to the previous year.

Footers remain the largest victims of road accidents, taking 420 cases in the first quarter of 2025. Motorcycle and Pillion motorcyclists contributed 301 and 130 cases, respectively.

According to NTSAapproximately 12 people die in daily road accidents in Kenya, statistics that the government intends to reduce through a ranks including expansion of highways, to ensure highways have proper markings, regular public service inspections, drivers’ recovery training, and the use of alcoblow to detect and arrest drunk drivers.
