Police officers from the Kikuyu area in Kiambu County have launched an investigation into the deaths of two general staff.

Two Fairmart Supermarket staff in the Zambezi area died on duty. The workers were identified as Silas Keter and Peter Kinyanjui.
According to Kikuyu police commander (OCPD) Joseph Bird, the source of the incident involved an electric kettle boiling water, where the water entered the floor.
“For Luck Worse, they touched the spilled water from the kettle. One of them tried to turn off sockets but suffered an electric shock and died. The water had spread to the floor and caused electricity to spread, and killed them both, ” He said the flight in a statement quoted by Citizen TV.

The family mourned and wanted justice after the tragedy
The bereaved families have expressed their sadness, saying their efforts to get a response from the Supermarket leadership have not been fruitful.
Elizabeth Nduta, the mother of one of the victims, said the family wanted justice and the truth about what caused the deaths of the two teenagers.
“We want to know if they died boiling water or they died dealing with error electrical cables,” He said.
Another brother, John Tangos, claimed that the incident occurred at 8pm (2pm), but the bodies were not released until 2pm (8pm).
“We want to understand the cause of the delay and what was happening between the death toll and the transfer of the bodies to Mochari,” he added.
He also requested the management of the supermarket to provide CCTV images to assist in the investigation, emphasizing that it is important for justice to be done to the youth.
Their bodies were transferred to the PCEA Kikuyu hospital as the investigation was underway.
