The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has given aspiring health-care workers a fresh, two-week window to secure a place at the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC), reopening its online placement portal on Monday night for the September 2025 intake.
The application period runs through Sunday, July 7, according to a notice issued early Tuesday.
How to Apply
In the brief announcement, KUCCPS urged candidates to log in at students.kuccps.net, enter their Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) index number, examination year and a password – either their Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) number or birth-certificate number – to begin the application process.
For students without reliable internet access, the agency recommended visiting any Huduma Centre nationwide, where staff would guide them through the online form.
Unlike previous calls, this intake lists an expanded menu of 36 diploma and certificate programmes that touch nearly every corner of Kenya’s health sector – from clinical medicine and pharmacy to mortuary science, optometry and health-insurance management.
Diploma offerings also include public health, orthopaedic and trauma medicine, occupational therapy and registered nursing, while certificate seekers can choose fields such as community health nursing, emergency medical technology and nutrition and dietetics.
The reopening comes just a month after KUCCPS wrapped up a second-revision exercise for last year’s KCSE candidates, many of whom had failed to land a slot during the initial round of university and college placements.
In that cycle the agency reported a surge of late-night traffic that briefly slowed its servers and forced a 48-hour extension – an episode KUCCPS officials say prompted new investments in bandwidth ahead of this week’s launch.
