Albert Ojwang’s family denies Eric Omondi’s claim that Kenyans donated KSh 10m

The family of blogger Albert Ojwang has informed Kenyans of the contributions made to date.

Family spokesman Kenneth Ouma was interviewed in the Obinna period, and revealed the amount they had in the joint account.

Ouma revealed that they had set up a formal payment of public contributions on the day the report of Albert’s corpse was released.

“We put a paybill that we shared in the public. It is the same paybill that Hanifa used to share. Well -minded Kenyans, including Eric Omondithey used that paybill in good faith. We verified and saw that it was sending money into a formal family account. We have also been informed that there is a fake paybill distributed by a forged account that claims to be Eric, ” He said.

How much did Kenyans contribute to the Albert family?

Ouma denied Eric’s claim that contributions from the public had reached KSh 10 million. According to him, especially ordinary citizens donated KSh 2.06 million.

He went on to prove that President William Ruto donated KSh 2 million and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga He gave KSh 1 million.

In total, all funds collected until Monday, June 23, were KSh 5.06 million.

“Eric did not say we have 10 million, unless there is another video I missed. Said Ouma.

He went on to say:

“We have a main account where all contributions are imported. By yesterday (Monday, June 23), we had 2.06 million KSh from the public. Ruto And Raila sent their contributions. “

Why does Eric Omondi feel betrayed by Albert’s father?

Earlier, Eric expressed his sadness after his father Albert, Meshack Opiyo, received a donation of KSh 2 million from President Ruto.

The comedian, who was one of the first to set up a series of aid to the family, felt betrayed after the father received money from the government that Eric believes was responsible for Albert’s death.

Eric also explained that Kenyan citizens showed great support by contributing in large numbers after he put in place the family’s contact with a paybill for fundraising.

The family claimed that the money was lost in a confusing way from the account of M-money of Meshack Opiyo, his late father.

Albert’s uncle, Polycarp Odhiambo, claimed that the amount made through Eric’s “us for us” campaign had been stolen.
