Tuesday blackout to affect parts of 4 counties

Kenya Power has announced a temporary blackout scheduled to affect a section of Machakos, Homa Bay, Tharaka Nithi and Kwale counties on Tuesday, June 24, 2025.

The outage is planned for routine network maintenance, with different regions experiencing temporary power cuts throughout the day.

“Good evening, kindly receive scheduled power maintenance for tomorrow, Tuesday, June 24, 2025,” Kenya Power announced.

Specific areas

In Machakos County, the planned 9:00 am to 5:00 pm power blackout will affect residents in Kilimambogo, Donyo Sabuk Market, KWS, KPLC Repeater Station at Summit, St. Damiano, Kantara, Nzambani, Kyeleni, Donyo Sabuk Resort, Kitini, Delmonte Workshop, Kwetu Farm, Uamani Village, Kwa Mwaura Market, Kwa Mulinga, Kitambasye, Kayatta, Ngunga, and part of Ngoliba Market and adjacent customers.

While in Homa Bay County, the utility company announced that the entire Rusinga Island, including Waware, Nyamuga, Wanyama, Kaswanga, Litare, Luore, Tom Mboya Mausoleum, Sienga, and adjacent areas, will experience a power interruption from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm.

Similarly, residents in Rabuor Masawa, Arujo, Maguti, Ogandi, Wiga, Part of Rodi, Imbo, Rangwe, Oluso, Sinogo, Asumbi Complex, Koyoo, Namba, Nyawita, Ojinyo, Omoya, Ndiru, Ohero, Masakla, Obuya Dispensary and adjacent customers will be affected by the outage from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

In Tharaka Nithi County, the scheduled blackout will affect residents of Mitheru, Magundu Village, Karimba, Kaganjo, Iriani Village, Mitheru Market, Ikame, Kiini and adjacent customers from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm.

According to the utility company, the scheduled power interruption in Kilifi County will affect customers in Samburu Town, Vigurungani, Banga, Mwakijembe, Kinagoni, Silaloni, and adjacent areas from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
