Deputy President Kithure Kindiki on Monday, June 23, 2025, held a consultative forum with MCAs drawn from Kitui, Machakos, and Makueni counties.

He emphasised that consultations with grassroots leaders are essential in accelerating the implementation of national government development programmes and projects.

Kindiki’s Ukambani tour
This comes after his recent tour to Ukambani, which was a strategic move to prepare for President William Ruto’s upcoming visit and to counter opposition influence in the region, particularly in Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka’s stronghold.
Covering constituencies such as Mwala, Machakos, Kitui East, Kitui South, Kitui Central, Kangundo, Masinga, Kaiti, Kilome, and Yatta, Kindiki led empowerment fundraisers for women and youth groups, distributing millions in pledges, including Ksh5 million in Mwala, of which Ksh3 million came from President Ruto.
He promised equitable development, highlighting road projects such as Emali–Ukia and Kibwezi–Mutomo–Kitui, along with modern markets.
Kindiki also shifted his political strategy by praising Kalonzo as a principled leader and expressing a desire to woo him into the Kenya Kwanza
