Nakuru Governor Susan Kihika on Sunday, June 22, 2025, held a baby dedication ceremony for her twin sons, Jayden and Jonathan Kamau Mburu, at the Faith Evangelistic Ministries (FEM) Church in Karen.
The service was a solemn and joyous occasion attended by family, close friends, and well-wishers.
Among the guests was former nominated Senator Millicent Omanga, who shared photos and reflections from the ceremony on her Instagram page.

Omanga described the sermon as a true blessing and spoke warmly about her conversation with Rev. Teresa Wairimu, the officiating pastor.
She praised Reverend Wairimu’s wisdom and genuine love for people, describing her ministry as inspiring.
“A beautiful dedication for baby Jayden and Jonathan Kamau Mburu today at FEM Church, Karen 💙. The sermon was a true blessing, and I was so inspired by my chat with Mum, Reverend Teresa Wairimu — her wisdom and love for people is unmatched. @susankihika,” Omanga wrote on Instagram.
The dedication service offered prayers and blessings for the young boys, marking an important spiritual milestone for the Kihika family.
Photos shared by Omanga captured moments of worship, prayer, and celebration, reflecting the heartfelt nature of the ceremony.
Kihika hosted a number of her friends, who included various leaders, as she returned with her twin babies.
In some photos, guests at the dedication could be seen taking turns cradling the babies, sharing tender moments of joy.

In others, they posed elegantly outside the church entrance, capturing memories of the special day.
In another shot, Omanga was spotted inside what appeared to be a waiting lobby, smiling brightly and dressed to impress alongside two other women.
Kihika welcomed her twins abroad, having spent several months away on maternity leave.
Kihika’s bestie
After photos of Governor Susan Kihika holding her twins upon returning to Kenya went viral on Saturday, April 26, 2025, Omanga did not hesitate to publicly praise the Nakuru County Governor.
Sharing a photo where she has posed with Kihika, Omanga praised the governor, saying she is a superstar.
“Welcome home, Mama twins! Governor by day, Supermom by night — Susan, you’re officially unstoppable, our superstar governor! Double the trouble and double the cuteness. You’ve opened the way, and the rest of us are following the queue — twins, here we come!” Omanga posted on X on Saturday, April 26, 2025.
Kihika’s message
At the time, the Nakuru governor shared how she felt after she was welcomed home by her friends.
“Truly blessed and overwhelmed with gratitude. Was deeply humbled and honoured to receive a warm visit from my dear friends who came to welcome me home and celebrate the arrival of my twin babies.
“Your love, prayers, and presence mean the world to me and my family. Thank you for standing with me in this special season of double blessings. Truly, there is nothing like the bond of friendship and support in leadership. God bless you all! Love you all!” Kihika stated.
Guests
The guests at the party included nominated Senator Veronica Maina, Molo Member of Parliament Kuria Kimani, Nakuru Town East MP Gavid Gikaria, his Nakuru Town West counterpart Samuel Arama, Gatundu North MP Elijah Njoroge Kururia, Kiambaa MP John Njuguna Wanjiku, and Dagoretti’s Beatrice Elachi.

Criticism
Kihika’s absence from the country raised eyebrows, with some questioning why she went to the US for the maternity services.
The criticism intensified to the point that women senators defended her.
“As women leaders of Kenya, we stand here together in solidarity with Governor Susan Kihika- a dedicated public servant and a mother who has recently welcomed twins into the world. We congratulate her on the birth of her children,” Mutinda said.
“We wish to remind the public that childbirth is a natural, unique and deeply personal process. As women leaders, we recognise the unique challenges that come with balancing public service and family responsibilities,” the leaders said in their defence.
