Sunday blackout to affect whole of Nakuru CBD, parts of 5 counties

Kenya Power has announced a scheduled power blackout that will affect parts of four counties on Sunday, June 21, 2025.

The outage is planned for maintenance purposes, with different regions experiencing temporary power cuts throughout the day.

In a statement on its official website, Kenya Power said, “Notice is hereby given under Rule 27 of the Electric Power Rules that the electricity supply will be interrupted as follows: (Periodic interruptions are necessary to facilitate maintenance and upgrades of power lines, connect new customers, or replace power lines during construction, etc.).”

The affected regions include:

Nakuru county

Area: Whole of Nakuru CBD

Time: 9:00 am – 5:00 pm

Affected places: Whole of Nakuru Town, Kenyatta Ave, Moi Rd, Westside Mall, Polo Center, Waterbuck Hotel, Merica Hotel, CK Patel, Bontana Hotel, Cathy Hotel, Naivas S/Mkt, Woolmatt S/Mkts, Clean Shelf S/Mkt, Top Mkt, Kanini Mkt, Biashara Center, Gilani S/Mkt, Oleken Hotel, Mt.
