Speaker Moses Wetang’ula set aside time to rebuke Githunguri MP, Gathoni Muumomba, for his actions during the Thursday session, June 19.

Wamumba was offended by the Kikuyu MP’s statement, Kimani Ichung’wah, who indicated that he was not paying attention to the activities in parliament.
The Githunguri MP had stated that he was present to discuss the 2025 financial bill, but Ichung’wah corrected him by informing him that the debate had been completed for a while.
“Most MPs do not listen carefully; that is why you hear Mr. Muumomba he does not know what activity was going on that week,” Ichung’wah whispered.
The statement offended Wamumba, who made the wrong statements in parliament against Ichung’wah, accusing him of lacking respect.
The incident attracted Speaker Wetang’ula, who defended Ichung’wah and called on them to show him to show respect for his colleagues.
“Mr. Muchomba, please be respectful to your colleagues. There was no lack of respect in what he said; Wetang’ula told them they were.
Despite being elected through the ruling party of UDAWamomba has joined the opposition to the government.
On the other hand, Ichung’wah has been a strong advocate of the government, striving to advance his agenda in parliament.

The Gachagua group has turned into a new form of opposition, strongly criticizing the defects and poor operation of the government Ruto.

Gachagua and Ruto won the presidency with a joint ticket and worked in solidarity until they differed in 2024.
Their relationship was completely destroyed and Gachagua was eventually ousted in late 2024 through the process of releasing him.
Since then, the former Deputy President launched a strong campaign against Ruto, accusing him of betrayal.
According to Gachagua, Ruto gained authority through fraud and fraud.
Ruto, on the other hand, said that Gachagua was ousted because of his dedication and focus on ethnic politics.
Gachagua was replaced by former Minister of Internal Security, Kithure Kindikiwhose Ruto praises him regularly for his understanding of government activities and his developmental position.
