Mumias East MP Peter Salasya is set to kick off his engagement tour in Kenya’s North Eastern region as part of his early campaign for the 2027 presidential race.
His goal is to bring Kenyans together, despite the divisions often caused by politics.
“As l take my engagement tour campaign to North Eastern, we learn that the struggles of the Bodaboda Guy in Busia are not so different than the plight of the Mama Mboga in Mombasa; that the hopes of the little girl who goes to a crumbling school in Bomet are the same as the dreams of the boy who learns on the Ghetto streets of Nairobi; we will remember that there is something happening in Kenya; that we are not as divided as our politics suggest; that we are one people; we are one nation,” Salasya posted on X on Friday June 20, 2025.
Salasya, known for his lively spirit and strong connection to the grassroots, has already travelled widely across the country, meeting people from all walks of life.
His journey has had its ups and downs, but he remains determined to challenge the old ways of doing things and fight for ordinary Kenyans’ needs and hopes.
“And, together, we will begin the next great chapter in the Kenyan story with three words that will ring from the Coastal to the Rift Valley Region, from Central to the Lakeside: Yes, we can,” the MP stated.

Road to State House
Salasya launched his national tour on 1st May 2025 in Busia, where he spoke to young people about job creation and economic empowerment.
Since then, he has visited many counties, including Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma, Kisii, Nyamira, Kericho, Malindi, Meru, Isiolo, Tharaka Nithi, Embu, and Machakos.
The road has not been smooth. He was almost arrested in Mombasa on 10th May and later, on 16th May, arrested on his way to Nanyuki. He was, however, released on bail.
