The African Football Federation (CAF) has confirmed that countries will organize the opening match and finals of the African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2024 between Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania.

When will Chan take place?
Chan was originally scheduled to take place in February 2025, but a number of factors, including the imperfection, prompted the African Football Federation to postpone the event.
It was reorganized until August 2025, and the draw was scheduled for mid -January. The tournament will take place from August 2 to 30. Natives Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda They were placed in Group A, B and C respectively.

The three East African neighbors will also host the African Nations Cup (AFCON) 2027. Kenya are participating in the tournament for the first time.
What countries will organize the opening match and the final?
CAF has confirmed that Tanzania will host the opening match, with Uganda hosting the third winner.
Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam will host the opening match on August 2.
Meanwhile, Uganda’s Mandela Stadium in Kampala will host the third and fourth matches of the tournament. Kenya’s Ksarani Stadium will host the finals on August 30. Nyayo Stadium in Nairobi will also organize Chan matches.
Nairobi will host Group A, Dar es Salaam will host Group B, Kampala will host Group C, while Zanzibar hosting Group D.

Can Kenya win the CHAN?
Harambee Stars won one match in 2025, a friendly match against Chad, earlier this year. Benni McCarthy has been forming a team that will take part in the tournament since being selected in March.
He has taken on the role of four matches, two in the World Cup qualifying matches. His only blow was against Gabon at Nyayo Stadium in March.
As such, his team will be under pressure to provide good performance on home ground.
