Kenyan comedian-cum-influencer David Oyando, widely known as Mulamwah, and his ex-lover Ruth Njoki Karegi, alias Ruth K, have both issued public apologies following a bitter exchange of accusations online on June 19, 2025.
The feud, which saw the pair trading claims ranging from manipulation and disrespect both during and after their breakup, escalated rapidly on social media.
However, in a surprising turn, each posted conciliatory statements expressing regret for the emotional harm caused during what was initially a brutal breakup aired in public view.
Taking to his official social media channels on Thursday night, June 19, 2025, Mulamwah apologised to his ex-lover and his fans.

“I have retraced my steps and was driven by a lot of factors, but that does not justify the actions taken and done. I take back my words. Poleni sana to the fans; I have disappointed lots of you in so many ways. Pole sana to R.K. Mama Oyando. I forgive you; I hope you forgive too. Let’s focus on the work ahead, na tuombe mungu atupee mwelekeo, when it comes to making decisions in the future,” Mulamwah posted.

On her part, Ruth asked her followers for forgiveness, noting that she has been going through a lot privately.
“I want to start by saying I am truly sorry. I know today’s posts may have come off the wrong way, and I take full responsibility. I should have done better; I will be here. Behind the scenes, I’ve been going through a quiet storm that has reminded me just how much I carry every single day. As a single mom, raising my son is both my greatest responsibility and my biggest blessing. He’s the cousin I fight so hard. The reason I want to become a better woman. And the reason I’ve chosen to take a step back and refocus on what really matters- him, my growth, and my brand,” Ruth apologised.

“I want to raise him to be kind, grounded, and whole. And I’m proud that I get to be the one shaping this little world. I know I’m not perfect; I make mistakes. But I’m human and I’m learning. I’m heaving, I’m exuding. And I’m choosing to move forward with more grace, more maturity, and a heart that’s aligned with my purpose
To have fun, why was I put down or disappointed? Dry pants, forgive me. To stars shining by me, упи grace means everything. Your support is something I don’t take for granted .This isn’t just an apology. It’s a new chapter.”

Online feud
The apology comes after the two former lovebirds were engaged in bitter online altercations, which were triggered by Ruth’s claims that she has been enduring disrespect from the comedian after their bitter separation.
“Sometimes silence is taken for granted. It’s been barely three months since the breakup, and I’ve faced disrespect in ways you wouldn’t even imagine in public and worse in private,” she lamented.
In addition to disrespect, the digital content creator also accused him of reversing the money he sent to her and promised her fans that she would give her account of the story one day.
“I’m trying to heal, gather myself emotionally, but it’s draining. You send Ksh5000 and reverse it, then have the nerve to screenshot a photo I put so much effort into? The audacity is loud. Enough is enough. I take my respect back. One day I will tell my story,” she declared.

In his defense, Mulamwah blamed Ruth for their breakup, stating that her friends influenced her decision to end things.
“It was a nice ride, young lady. Don’t cry wolf. You broke your own home with your two hands. I warned you of the so-called friends; now see… You never listened; you kept following their advice until they helped you move out of home to Ruaka because of their jealousy of your home, family, and achievements,” he stated.
The former radio host also lamented how his ex-lover was being disrespectful to his parents.
“I gave you some deals and a name online; you got money and became proud; you disrespected me and my parents as well. You are staying under my shelter, yet you are buying your household items. A day came; you found reasons for you to leave me and left,” he lamented.
