According to Machewa area chief Pius Boiyo, a suspect identified as Moses Ngeiywo’s famous Moses allegedly killed Nelly Bowen in his house after discovering that he had been identified as the one who stole his maize.
Boiyo told TUKO.co.ke that the boy, with his colleagues, broke the woman’s house and stole maize before escaping by motorcycle.

It is alleged that the suspect returned later to the woman’s home and killed her.
The local chief said that preliminary investigations show that the woman was beaten and later hanged to death.
“The theft of maize occurred in his home, and after being stolen, it seems the suspect realized he had been identified, and perhaps in fear of being prosecuted, he decided to return and kill him,” The chief told TUKO.co.ke in an exclusive interview.
The suspect was arrested on Tuesday, June 17, and taken to the Kitale police station where he is detained before being taken to court.
Initially, angry residents refused to allow police officers to take the body of the deceased until the suspect was presented.
However, they were silenced and later allowed the police to take over the body, which is currently stored at the referral and training hospital of the young Malwa in Kitale.
“We were able to calm them down and assure them that the suspect would be subjected to strict legal action,” The chief explained.
Criminal officers from the Criminal Investigation Unit (DCI) in Kitale visited the murder area and investigated it in detail.

A 19 -year -old boy facing murder charges
Trans Nzoia West Nzoia County Police Commander, Erick Ng’etich, told reporters that once the investigation was completed, they would release charges for the murder.
“We are holding a 19 -year -old boy accused of killing a woman in Machewa. At present, our team is continuing a thorough investigation into the incident, and soon the suspect will be charged in court for murder,” Ng’etich said.
The police chief also revealed that the suspect was the same person who stole the G3 rifle at the Machewa police station on Tuesday, June 10.
Trans Nzoia man kills his wife
TUKO.co.ke earlier reported another incident in which a man from the Tuwan area allegedly killed his wife before surrendering to police.
The man, Sapilis Mang’ongong’o, allegedly carried out the atrocities because of his wife’s alleged relationship.
The local chief said the couple had long -term marriage conflicts with the 36 -year -old woman.
