The wife of renowned city designer Bolo Bespoke, Mueni, has come out to clarify speculation surrounding her lavish Ksh10 million brand-new Toyota Land Cruiser Father’s Day surprise for her husband.
Speaking in a video shared on her Instagram on Monday, June 16, 2025, Mueni fervently refuted claims that she had dug into the couple’s business savings to fund the purchase, insisting the gift was both thoughtful and solely financed by her.
‘It’s not a prank. The car cost ten million. It’s my money. You cannot surprise someone using their own money,” Mueni said.
Mueni, who recently opened a fashion store, explained that the decision to settle on the Land Cruiser — and not a flashier option like a Range Rover — was intentional.
She said she had just launched her business and wanted a gesture that still felt significant but was within her budget.
“Are we broke?” Bolo asked Mueni.
“I did not want to buy you a Range Rover because I just opened the store recently,” Mueni responded, noting that she was balancing her surprise plans with fresh business commitments.

In the clip that captured the heartfelt moment, Bolo appeared stunned, prompting him to pester her to clarify whether the Ksh10 million spent was from their joint finances.
Mueni, however, maintained that the money came entirely from her efforts, adding that not a single coin could be traced back to her husband.
“Babe, did you spend all your money on this?” Bolo asked.
“This is not on us, it is on me,” Mueni responded, reinforcing that she had not touched business money for the car.
She further explained her thought process behind the grand gesture, revealing that she wanted to go beyond the ordinary.
She added that she had first considered a phone or a house, but realised that such presents would not resonate since they already own them.
“I really did not know how to surprise him. If I had bought a phone, it would be too basic. A house? We already have one. So I decided to add a car. He really loves cars, and I just wanted to do this for him,” she said.
Doting husband
Mueni then described Bolo as a present and dependable husband, and noted that he has a deep love for cars — a passion she wanted to honour.
She expressed admiration for how he consistently balances his responsibilities as both a father and a husband, and warmly appreciated him for choosing her to be the mother of his children.
“Bolo is the father to my kids, and he is my husband. He has been present both as a father and husband,” she said.
Upon witnessing the heartfelt surprise that Mueni had orchestrated on Sunday, June 15, 2025, as the world marked Father’s Day, Bolo remarked that he hoped she was not playing a prank on him.
He admitted that he was lost for words at the grand gesture and affirmed that he would continue to love Mueni with equal devotion.
“I hope it’s not a prank. But I’m very happy and grateful to be honest, babe,” He said.
In a caption to the video, Bolo described himself as a skilled man and wished himself a happy Father’s Day while asking fans to thank Mueni for the gift.
“Bwana ya Tajiri ni mmoja na ni Fundi. Happy Father’s Day to me. Help me, thank Anti wa mporompopo for this Gift🙏🏻🙏🏻,” Bolo wrote.
