Actor and media personality Martin Githinji, popularly known as Daddy Marto, has responded to emotional claims by his wife, Koku Lwanga, who recently went public with their separation and accused him of infidelity, abandonment, and abuse.
The couple tied the knot in 2018.
Breakup goes public
On Sunday, June 15, 2025, Koku took to her Instagram stories with a deeply emotional post revealing the end of their marriage. She accused Marto of cheating on her, claiming that when she confronted him and his other woman, she was physically attacked.
The post exposed pain, exhaustion, and betrayal. Lwanga claimed that despite dedicating everything to the marriage and their children, she ended up feeling invisible and disposable.
“You literally can build with a man, dedicate all, give all and in a blink, you will be reduced to nothing in his eyes. You become as fickle as a paper in the wind. You become a burden; you become something he loathes and wishes away. You become disposable. Oh life, how cruel can you get,” she wrote.

“I have been depressed and suicidal. Honestly I am not okay. I am frozen. Not knowing if I should go get a P3 or just sit in my shock with my swollen neck and shoulders.”
She also claimed that Marto made her pay rent and cover household expenses, even though they lived together.
Marto issues statement
In a formal statement shared on Monday, June 15, 2025, Daddy Marto responded publicly to the claims, rejecting all allegations of abuse, cheating, and psychological harm.
“I do not condone violence of any kind, physical, emotional, or psychological. I also unequivocally reject being the subject of false and harmful accusations,” he said.
He added that the narrative currently circulating presents a distorted and one-sided version of events, omitting critical context.
Marto said he initially hoped to resolve the matter privately but was compelled to respond for the sake of his children and the public narrative.
Legal path forward
He said he is working with legal channels to seek redress and ensure the safety of everyone involved. While he refrained from public confrontations, Marto noted that evidence exists that could offer a more complete picture of the situation.
“Rather than engage in public confrontations, I believe it is essential to allow the appropriate channels to handle this matter thoroughly, fairly, and with the dignity it deserves.”
Final plea
In his closing remarks, Marto asked the public for patience and compassion, particularly for the sake of his children.
“I am still processing much of this in real time, but I am committed to navigating this challenging period with integrity, dignity, and respect for all,” he wrote.
