Kenya’s First Lady, Mama Rachel Ruto, marked Father’s Day with a heartfelt tribute that honoured the commitment, sacrifices, and unwavering love shown by fathers across the country.
In a statement shared on her official X account on Sunday, June 15, 2025, she praised the often-unsung contributions of dads while also dedicating a deeply personal message to her husband, President William Ruto.
“To all the amazing dads out there: Today, we celebrate you. We see the quiet strength it takes to shoulder responsibilities, the long hours worked to provide, and the countless sacrifices made out of love,” she wrote.
She emphasized that fatherhood is more than financial provision—it includes emotional support, moral guidance, and stability.
“We cherish the guidance you give, the lessons you teach, and the haven you create,” she said.

Rachel struck a chord with many families across the nation, especially as she highlighted the everyday heroism in fatherhood.
“Your dedication in raising your children well, shaping them with patience, wisdom, and support – is the most profound gift,” she wrote. “Thank you for every effort, big and small. You are deeply appreciated.”
In a more personal portion of her message, the First Lady turned her focus to President William Ruto, expressing admiration for his ability to balance national leadership with fatherhood.
“To my incredible Bill: On this Father’s Day, my heart overflows with gratitude and awe for you,” Rachel said.
Unsung heroes
She acknowledged the unique challenges the President faces, noting that while he carries “the weight of immense responsibility for our nation – a burden few can truly understand,” he still manages to remain a present and loving father.
“Amidst the demands and pressures, you show up. You listen, you laugh, you guide, and you love our wonderful children with all your heart,” she added.

Rachel painted a picture of President Ruto as a leader who is not only committed to the nation but also deeply invested in his family.
“You listen, you laugh, you guide, and you love our wonderful children with all your heart,” she expressed.
“Thank you for being our rock, our inspiration, and the heart of our family. Happy Father’s Day to the most remarkable dad we know,” she said. “We love you beyond measure.”
President Ruto also honoured all fathers, saying they are the silent heroes who protect, provide, and nurture the foundation of our families.
He said fathers carry the weight of responsibility with quiet strength.
“They shape values, model resilience, and offer steadfast support through life’s seasons. In their hands, children find safety. In their presence, families prosper. Through their sacrifice, communities stand strong,” he stated.
“To every father building stable homes and stronger societies, we thank you, and we celebrate you.”
“May God bless all fathers, and happy Father’s Day.”
