Nairobi: The main suspect in the murder of blogger Albert Ojwang was brought to the Mountains Court on Friday, June 13.

Police Constable James Mukhwana was brought to court accompanied by his defense team.

He was tied and covered his face with a black mask and a black jacket covering his head.

The suspect was later promoted to the dock, where he was exposed to his face and first appeared.

He stayed there in anxiety as the cases began in court.

Then they allegedly plotted to hide the horrific killings by destroying images captured by investigative cameras at the center, according to IPOA.

“Preliminary investigations have revealed that the complainant, along with other people involved, is more likely to be involved in planning and carrying out the brutal murder of the deceased in the cells of the police station. The investigation revealed that he, and other people in general, were involved in a deliberate hiding by playing the Central Police Station.

Did the Court give Mukhwana Bondi/Guarantee?

The Independent Police Management Authority (IPOA) filed a request for Mukhwana to be banned for 21 days to allow further investigation.

The authority said that giving the suspect a bail or bail would allow him to interfere with the ongoing investigation.

However, the Omari -led defense team broke the IPOA presentation, saying the suspect is a low -level police officer who has no influence that could lead to intervention.

The court will decide on the case on June 20. Meanwhile, Mukhwana will continue to be detained while awaiting the court’s decision.

At the same time, IPOA also questioned a technician who is believed to be charged with entering the investigative cameras.

The technician was arrested and, while interviewed, revealed to investigators that he was paid KSh 3,000 for the job.

He is said to be phoned on Sunday morning, June 8, a few hours after Ojwang was confirmed he had died.

According to him, the officers wanted him to delete pictures that had trends until Ojwang’s death in detention.

It is said he advised the cancellation of the contents of the digital video recorder (DVR).

In the early stages of their investigation, IPOA revealed that the CCTV system of the central police was interrupted, with the DVR power cable being disconnected.

DVR records showed that the operating disks had been changed and complied with four minutes between 07:28 am and 07:32 am that Sunday.

How Albert Ojwang faced his death

Ojwang was arrested on Saturday, June 7, at his home in Homa Bay County.

He was later transported to Nairobi, where he died after being taken to the police station.

His arrest for Luck The worst came after a complaint was filed against him by Deputy Inspector General of Police Eliud Lagat.

Lagat was accused of allegedly criticized by an X account used by Ojwang, which published the alleged military content against the second Kenyan police chief.
