When did Ojwang leave Malindi?
Ojwang left Malindi to their home in Homa Bay, where he had gone to visit his parents, wife and son. With lunch with his mother and his wife, six policemen came down and picked him up. Sadly, that was the last time he appeared alive, since it later emerged that he died inside the police station, where he was beaten to death.
“I got his missed call on Saturday; he had hit 2pm at night and tried to call him again at 5pm, until Sunday, but his phone was turned off,” said his friend. “When I phoned his father, the old man told me that Albert could not receive my phone because he was in the mortuary,” he added.

Another friend who knew Albert said they were proud of his work on the Internet because he was very influential. “Albert was one of our bloggers at the University of the Coast, and throughout the time he was blogging, he had never insulted his opponents,” said a former classmate.
“He was like to eat here and he was also a Man-fan, when I was a fan of Arsenal. He was a good man, and we were screaming about the team without limit. We watched the whole season together, ” Another friend said.

Prior to his death, Ojwang asked his friends to assist in raising funds for a construction project at the Riwo Baptist church in Kasipul Kabondo. He was a member of the committee responsible for the construction of the church.

Ojwang was arrested on charges of false publication and his death sparked public outrage as well as allegations of responsibility.
