Nairobi – Video has circulated on social networks showing a man allegedly pushing five -year -old Amanda Mutheu from a five -storey balcony.

Amanda was home to the Jacaranda Estate area, Coffee in the West, and her Yaya when the suspect visited her and reportedly caused a mess.

Feeling dangerous, Yaya shouted and rushed to warn the neighbors, but the help came too late when the little girl had already fallen.

Jacaranda Gardens’s property manager, Lilian Gichuhi, confirmed the incident in a statement, saying that the suspect was drunk when he committed the act of disgust.

Gichuhi also confirmed that police officers were called to the scene after neighbors arrested his brother Amanda, while others rushed to the hospital.

The sad thing is that the five -year -old died of his injuries while receiving treatment at a Kenyatta University Training and Referral Hospital.

Amanda Mutheu’s uncle is defending

In the video that is now spreading, the suspect, who appears to be drunk, is seen being detained by Jacaranda Estate residents and a security guard.

He had visible injuries on his face, which may have been caused by angry neighbors following Amanda’s death.

They questioned why he pushed Amanda. In his defense, he insisted he never wanted to harm him. He claimed Amanda was happy to see her and expressed disbelief.

“Mutheu is my daughter. How do I throw my daughter? What do you tell me? No – I threw a doll,” she said.

The man continued to demand that the crowd finish him and mention Amanda regularly while insisting that he was his baby.

He also wanted him to be taken to court and referred to CCTV cameras on the balcony, claiming he knew his rights.

“If the cameras show what happened, you are disappointed,” he added.

Kenyans angered by Amanda’s death

The incident has sparked public outrage online, with many claiming justice to Amanda and condemning the alleged acts of the suspect.
