Kinangop residents have entered the road with sadness and anger after a pregnant woman allegedly delivered a police cell in Rwanyambo, a tragedy that ended with the death of the child.

The incident occurred in Kinangop, where a woman allegedly six to seven months pregnant, was reportedly detained at Rwanyambo police station.
The woman, whose identity was not made clear, allegedly urged police officers to allow her to receive treatment, but her application was rejected.
The case was revealed in parliament when Nyandarua senator John Metu presented it before the August Parliament.
Nyandarua woman loses a baby in a police cell
Addressing Inspector General of Police, Douglas Kanja, who was present at the interrogation session, Methu expressed sadness at what he referred to as police negligence.
“Let me know, Mr. Speaker, that in my county, a pregnant mother was arrested and detained at a police station called Rwanyambo. She was six to seven months pregnant,” Said Metu.
According to the Senator, the woman suffered a pain in the cell, and without any medical assistance provided, the baby died sadly shortly after birth.
“She was crying for police officers to help her get medical assistance. This morning, the Rwanyambo people woke up and saw the tragic incident of a pregnant woman in the room with her dead son, who gave birth to her there,” Methu told Parliament.

The senator criticized the incident and called for immediate investigation and accountability from the police service.
The 30 -year -old woman, identified as Wangari Smith, was arrested after allegedly stealing KSh 9,000 from her employer.
Throughout the day, residents gathered outside the police station, demanding answers about the screaming screams they heard last night.
“When we heard screaming at work, we all ran here and realized that the woman was arrested the previous day and ended up delivering in the cell because the soldiers refused to open,” Said one of the villagers.
The angry residents called on a female police officer to be sent to the center and demanded that the women’s detention.
Wangari, along with her baby’s body, were later taken to a sub -county engineer.
A blogger dies under police protection
This came after a similar incident that surprised the country, that of blogger and influencer X Albert Ojwang ‘, who died while in detention with police.
Ojwang ‘was arrested for allegedly publishing a scam content about Deputy Inspector General of Police, Eliud Lagat.
He was detained at Homa Bay and transported to Nairobi, where he passed away at the Police Station.
