Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, who doubles up as the Foreign and Diaspora Affairs Cabinet Secretary, has opened up on the details of his meeting with David Lammy, the UK Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs.
Taking to his official X account on the night of Thursday, June 12, 2025, Mudavadi stated that they had explored key areas of shared interest between Kenya and the United Kingdom.
“Had a productive conversation with @DavidLammy, the UK Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, where we explored key areas of shared interest between Kenya and the United Kingdom,” Mudavadi’s statement read in part.
The former Vice President went ahead to reveal that the ongoing negotiation for the transformative 423-acre Nairobi Railways City project was top of their meeting’s agenda.
He says the project is poised to revolutionize urban mobility by serving over 30,000 passengers daily across Nairobi.
Apart from the Nairobi Railways City project, the two exchanged views on promoting peace and stability in the Greater Horn of Africa.
According to Mudavadi, the meeting also emphasised the importance of supporting the Kenyan-led Multinational Security Support (MSS) Mission in Haiti.
“Top on our agenda was the ongoing negotiation for the transformative 423-acre Nairobi Railways City project, a visionary “city within a city” poised to revolutionize urban mobility by serving over 30,000 passengers daily across the capital. We also exchanged views on promoting peace and stability in the Greater Horn of Africa, and underscored the importance of supporting the Kenyan-led Multinational Security Support (MSS) Mission in Haiti. Our dialogue reaffirmed the strong, forward-looking partnership between our two nations,” Mudavadi stated.

Mudavadi has been out of the country this week to attend the China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo (CAETE) in Changsha, Hunan Province.
