Friday blackout to hit parts of Pipeline estate in Nairobi

Kenya Power has announced a scheduled power blackout that will affect parts of Pipeline Estate in Nairobi County on Friday, June 13, 2025.

In a notice issued on Thursday night, June 12, 2025, the utility company stated that the electricity supply interruption, scheduled to begin at 9:00 am, is part of routine maintenance on the national power grid.

According to Kenya Power, the outage will mainly affect parts of Pipeline Estate, Jackmil Supermarket, Quick Mart supermarket, PCEA Pipeline, Stage Mpya, part of Tassia Stage, Avenue Park 1 & 2 Estates, Kwa Kirima, Amazon, Pebble Hotel, and adjacent customers from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

“Good evening. The listed areas will be under planned power maintenance tomorrow (13th June, 2025). We regret any inconvenience that may be caused during the operations,” Kenya Power announced.

Other parts

Apart from residents of the Pipeline estate, the utility company announced that the planned outage, which is expected to affect activities that depend on electricity, will also affect parts of Nyandarua County.

The specific area that is set to experience the power blackout from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm includes the whole of Engineer, parts of Miharati, parts of Njambini, Murungaru, Kinamba, the whole of Munyaka, Mike Eden, the whole of Yanga, Ndothua, Sasumua Dam, and Kiboro.

Similarly, the whole of Ndunyu Njeru, the whole of Memo, Ndinda, the whole of Mumui, Tigoni, the whole of Machinnery, the whole of Kabati, Foot Hill School, the whole of Mubau, Mukiri, the whole of Munyuini and adjacent customers will be affected at the same time.

The utility company advises all affected customers in the parts of Nairobi and Nyandarua counties to prepare for full-day power interruptions. The company apologises for any inconvenience and assures the public that the maintenance will ultimately improve service quality.

Kenya Power commits to reducing future disruptions and enhancing grid resilience. Ensuring timely restoration and addressing customer concerns remain priorities in this transition.
