Who is Amin?
According to the National Police Service Commission (NPSC), Amin is leading several departments within the Police Force.
Before being appointed as head of DCIserved as the director of the internal affairs unit for three years.
Amin also served as director of the national unit for handling small and light weapons.
In addition, he served as the North East Regional Coordinator, the Central Regional Coordinator, the Chief of Intelligence at the DCI Headquarters, and the Director of the Fraud Sector Intelligence Unit.
The head of DCI holds a master’s degree in art in the profession of crime and security management, and the first degree of art in the same profession (first grade) from the University of Egerton.
In addition, he has a diploma in international studies from the University of Nairobi, a certificate from the National Defense Academy, and the Certificate of Ethics, Good Governance and Economic Crime from the University of Egerton.
Amin is also a member of the National Anti -Terrorism Panel and Terrorism Panel.
How much does Amin’s salary as DCI head?
According to the announcement of the Commission on Salary and Benefits (SRC), the DCI’s Head receives a total salary of KSh 684,233 for the financial year ending in June 2025.
This salary includes:
- KSh base wages 410,540
- KSh 100,000 home allowance
- KSh Rewards Market Reformers 173,693
- With a formal travel allowance
Other privileges include:
- Health Insurance worth up to KSh 10.6 million per year
- Home loan up to KSh 30 million
- Car loan up to KSh 6 million
- KSH 20,000 chat time allowance per month
How much is the police IG paid?
Amin is working under the Inspector General of Police (IG), Douglas Kanja, who is paid a total salary of KSh 819,844 per month.
This includes:
- KSh base wages 491,906
- KSh 150,000 house allowance
- KSh Rewards Market Reformers 177,938
- Deputy Inspector General of Police, Eliud Lagat, receives a total of KSh 684,233, from KSh 652,742 in the financial year of 2023/2024.
