Said officials Gsu They allegedly invaded his newsroom due to a fake newspaper’s case accusing the police officer of corruption.

The incident is reported to be from the Standard Group Headquarters on April 22. According to the Media House, the Toyota Probox with registration numbers KDD 055Z entered its parking. The numbers, however, were said to be Subaru Forester.

Why did GSU invade Standard Media?

Inside the car were the officials of the main service unit. They introduced themselves and claimed that they were investigating the front page of the magazine that spread on social networks.

The fake headline, called ‘The Richest Cop’, accused Deputy Inspector General of Police Eliud Lagat for accumulating wealth through a network of tribal allies allegedly placed in police positions to collect revenue.

KtnThe TV station under The Standard Group, said in a statement that the officers were cooperating with the company’s leadership. After confirming that the headline was created and not published by the group, the officers left the area.

“KTN can now reveal that a few days before Ojwang’s death, Toyota Probox with registration number KDD 055Z, entered the Standard Group parking on April 22. In it there were officials from GSU,” The media reported.

But that didn’t end there.

Some days later, another fake page entitled The Mafia COP emerged online.

During the same period, Albert Ojwang ‘was arrested at Homa Bay and transported to Nairobi, where he later died under incomprehensible conditions under police protection.

What did Albert Ojwang publish before his arrest?

Earlier TUKO.co.ke reported that Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja told the Senate that Ojwang ‘had published a scandal content targeting senior police officers.

One of his online publications referred to allegations made in the headline, including DIG Lagat and preference, misuse of police structures, and even a millions of shillings to own Dubai.

Ojwang’s post referred to Lagat as “Mafia Soldier” and claimed that the Ethics and Anti -Corruption Commission (EACC) had been following him, allegations that the EACC had denied since then.

Following these publications, Dig Lagat filed a complaint to the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) on June 4.

How was Ojwang tracked and arrested?

Kanja told senators that digital investigative teams, in partnership with the Kenya Communications Authority (CA), followed the activities of the Ojwang’s X account.

They linked it to a group of users who publish the same content. This led to the arrest of Kevin Moinde in Kisii, who, in an interview, referred to Ojwang ‘as one of the four contributors behind the positions.

However, confusion emerged when the Communications Authority separated from the investigation. It said it has no timely access to social network data and is not legally allowed to share such information with the police.
