Kijokoma Brother: The Court issues a warrant for the arrest of a police officer linked to the murder of 2 brother

Justice knocked loudly than excuses in the Nairobi court while the High Court of the Mountains refused to withdraw the arrest warrant of a police officer in the middle of the murder case of the Kimanjokoma brother.

The court dismissed the request of James Mwaniki, one of six officers charged with the deaths of Benson Njiru and Emmanuel Mutura, to overturn the warranty released after the misdemeanor of the scheduled case.

Mwaniki’s lawyer told the court that his client was hospitalized at the hospital Thika Level 5 since June 8.

But the court remained without conviction. It accepted the arrest order and ordered that the wizard must come to court immediately after being released.

His absence had to be postponed the case which was expected to continue for five days.

The case was scheduled to include important evidence from government witnesses and citizens.

Mwaniki is charged with fellow officers Benson Mbuthia, Consolata Kariuki, Nicholas Cheruiyot, Martin Animal, and Lilian Cherono.

The group is alleged Covid-19 In Kiajokoma, Embu County, on the night of August 1, 2021.

The prosecution, led by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP), consisted of key witnesses, including the State Disease Doctor, two civilian observers and several police officers.

While Mwaniki is still hospitalized, the case will now be referred to July 2, awaiting the recovery and proceedings of the witnesses.

The ODPP confirmed that it was committed to obtaining justice, insisting that police officers must be held accountable when they were linked to serious violence.
