The announcement, made via a post on the Commission’s official X account on Monday, June 9, 2025, signals a significant investment in strengthening the capacity of courts and ensuring access to justice across the country.

“We are hiring!” the Commission posted.

“Job vacancies in the Judiciary: Judges, Magistrates, Kadhis, and more. Apply now.”

Supporting an expanding judiciary

The Judicial Service Commission is a constitutionally mandated body responsible for promoting and facilitating the independence and accountability of the Judiciary under Article 171 of the Kenyan Constitution.

Monday’s announcement is part of a broader effort to ease case backlogs and improve the speed and reach of justice delivery throughout the country.

The positions, which span various legal disciplines and geographic jurisdictions, also reflect ongoing reforms aimed at localising justice services, particularly through the recruitment of adjudicators for the Small Claims Court and Kadhis for the resolution of Muslim personal law cases.

The Commission has also reminded applicants that no recruitment fees are charged, warning against fraudsters posing as intermediaries.

Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted, and canvassing will lead to automatic disqualification.

How to apply

Applicants must submit their credentials through the official JSC recruitment platform and are encouraged to review full job descriptions, eligibility requirements, and instructions available at jsc.go.ke/jobs-2.

The JSC headquarters is located at the CBK Pension Towers, Harambee Avenue, Nairobi, and applicants may direct inquiries to [email protected] or call +254 20-2739180.
