Nairobi Woman Representative Esther Passaris has referred to President William Ruto as a leader ordained by God to lead Kenyans.
Passaris made the remarks in the company of the president during a church service in Nairobi’s Church of Christ in Africa (CCA) in Makadara Constituency on Sunday, June 8, 2025.
While borrowing from an earlier sermon by the presiding pastor, the Orange Democratic Movement (MP) politician observed that Ruto’s presidency is God’s chosen, terming it a reality that all people should embrace, including the youth.
“It is true indeed that leaders are chosen. We have to honour that as the youths of this nation and as leaders too,” she stated.
Passaris reinforced her sentiments with the observation of how Ruto’s presidency weathered the storm to come through and see the formation of the broad-based government.
“I want you to know that the chosen one to lead this country is Ruto. When one tries to take something away with one hand, God gives with two. It is why we are in a broad-based government. I know Nairobi will remain firmly with Ruto,” she added.
Speaking at the same function, Nominated Senator Tabitha Mutinda hit out at the government critics.
Mutinda took a swipe at the section of opposition politicians critical of the ongoing empowerment initiatives across the country led by the pro-government leaders.
In her onslaught against the politicians, the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) allied member dismissed those questioning the source of the funds being used, asserting that the government will continue with the empowerment drives to uplift the women and youths of the country.

She also states that her support of the broad-based government under Ruto and ODM leader Raila Odinga.
“We continue to pray and ask that you continue supporting the president and his deputy, and also Raila. We are all behind them to move this country forward. We are all Kenyans, and let us not allow people on top of cars to divide us,” he stated.
Her sentiments in support of the government were also echoed by her nominated counterpart, Karen Nyamu, who also chided the opposition-allied politicians over their incessant attacks on the president.
