A young woman from Cherangany has emerged with a sad story of broken dreams and financial destruction after falling into a major promising scandal in Canada.
Cynthia JemutaiA former employee at the Cherangany Technical Training Institute (TTI), says he was defrauded by a man known as Isaack Barmasai, who was running a travel advisory agency.
Jemutai told TUKO.co.ke That Barmasai promised to find a job in Canada at a total cost of KSh 1.2 million.
“I came out of poor formation, but I always dreamed of going overseas to change my life,” He started.
With a desire to run his dream, his family sold the land to increase that amount and pay him fully.
Immediately after receiving the money, Barmasai began to make excuses, citing rising flight costs and delaying the employer’s response.
“He even attended my farewell feast and told me I had to resign my job to prepare for the trip,” Jemutai remembered. By believing in him, he resigned from his post in Cherangany TTI.
Then the silence began.
Calls declined, with Barmasai claiming he was busy in “Airlines.“Finally, he handed him a visa and a ticket, all confirmed later to be forged.
In the expected travel date, Jemutai says Barmasai requested KSh 24,000 for the fuel of his Prado car to take him to the airport. His father gave him money.
“Even we prayed at home before we left,” He said. “But his car didn’t happen. He told us to meet Eldoret Because our roads were poor. When we got there, he turned off his phone. “
As they were stuck in Eldoret with Shaka increasing, the family contacted the airline’s offices directly to confirm the ticket. It was fake.
Jemutai returned home with discouraged, having lost his job, his dignity, and the savings of his family.
