Embu: The war of authorities dominated the Day of Power Day this year after Governor Cecily Mbarire denied a government official for allegedly undermining his authority.
Speaking at Makima Primary School, Mbarire, who is also the chairman of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA), claimed that Nairobi’s top government officials were plotting against him and other elected officials in Embu County.
The governor said the tragedy was due to secret meetings organized at night in the county by unidentified senior officials, aimed at causing divisions between local leaders.
Mbarire said that he was left loyal to the UDA and the President William Rutoeven during the difficult campaigns that led to the 2022 general election.
“If anyone has gone through many challenges because of standing with this government, then I am,” Mbarire said.
“But now, there are people planning evil against me. And they are the people of the government that I advocate every day. Those officials from Nairobi who come to hold night meetings to fight the leaders in power – they have no respect. They think they understand more politics than we do,” He complained.
Who threatens Mbarire Embu?
Mbarire warned the unidentified officers to stop weakening his leadership, saying he was not afraid to mention them publicly if the threats continued.
“I have been in politics for many years. Don’t try to scare me, otherwise I will tell the truth.”He said.
MBARIRE complained about the misery within the UDA
The governor emphasized that he is a elected leader and is therefore worthy of respect as he respects the officers.
“Don’t dare to come back to Embu again. Don’t look at me as a free man. I am a leader chosen by the people of Embu County, and you will respect me.”He said with emphasis.
Mbarire called on the government to address internal conflicts with respect, and called for negotiations rather than in the Strategy.
“Our help to Ruto should not be taken cool. If there is a problem, call us to sit at the table and talk. he added.
Was Kindiki responsible for the attempt to get rid of Mbarire Uda?
This comes a few months after the deputy president Kithure Kindiki Providing a hint of plan to remove Mbarire as chairman of the party.
In January, Kindiki accused Mbarire of failing to protect Ruto when he publicly criticized during his previous visit to Embu.
He questioned Mbarire’s obedience, saying the party leader should not be embarrassed in his own county.
The remarks came when there was a controversy over the party, a few months after former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua was removed by a vote of no confidence in him, and the UDA party to join the party Musalia MudavadiPeace National Congress (ANC).
