Hours after Diamond Platnumz set social media abuzz with photos and videos from his traditional wedding to songstress Zuhura Othman, singer Isaya Michael Mtambo, alias Chinno Kid, has come forward to speak candidly about his own views on marriage, revealing that he, too, is thinking seriously about settling down.

Speaking during an interview with a local Tanzanian blogger on Monday, June 2, 2025, the ‘Bongoman’ crooner said that he is currently in a season where he is praying earnestly to God that the woman he is with will prove to be the right one, should he move forward with plans to marry her.

“Yourself, who is asking me why I have not married yet do you have the right woman? I have the right woman, yes, the one you are talking about, but I cannot judge my partner at this stage; she is my fiancée, and this is still a period for deep understanding and observation — marriage is God’s plan,” Chinno said.

Further, Chinno added that he strongly believes marriage is not something one should rush into for the sake of impressing crowds or chasing online clout, noting that a union built on public performance rarely leads to the private joy that a true marriage should bring.

He stated that he advocates for people to marry only when they feel the timing is right, stressing that once someone enters into marriage and ends up divorced, they might never again experience the wholesome and fulfilling feeling of a lasting union.

“It is not something to ride on because it is trending. When the right time comes, it will come, what truly matters is that we keep praying to find the right woman — one who fits into the reality of our lives, because life is filled with so many layers and twists,” he said.

Chinno also added that he believes a woman who is fit for marriage must be one who is built for endurance — someone who can weather challenges — saying that most marriages collapse because people do not take the time to understand whether their partners can truly persevere through storms.

“Your woman must be someone who has resilience — a woman who can withstand pressure. She might be told something by someone and believe it, and that could break the marriage. Once you separate, I do not think you will ever view marriage the same way again. When marriage comes, it should come in a way that demands respect,” he added.

Diamond’s Marriage

On the same note, Chinno was asked to share his thoughts on the viral photos circulating online showing what appeared to be Diamond Platnumz and Zuchu’s traditional wedding.

On that, Chinno said that he had not yet seen the photos himself, but expressed hope that the marriage was indeed real, stating that he sincerely wished the couple a fulfilling, peaceful life together.

“If it turns out to be true or even if it is just a rumour, I send my blessings and I take it positively. I love the idea of it, and I hope it is true. I have not been online and I have not seen the details of their wedding,” he added.

However, he also insisted that despite the close friendship he shares with the Wasafi label boss, he is not close to him when it comes to personal matters and therefore may not be in a position to clearly confirm or deny whether he indeed married Zuchu.

“I do not have the authority to speak about that matter concerning Diamond because I am not a family member — I am just a brother, and I also respect Zuchu. I am not close to them when it comes to their private life,” he added.
