Kenyan socialite and beauty entrepreneur Huddah Monroe has once again condemned unplanned parenthood, calling it a major contributor to poverty in African communities.
In a series of blunt Instagram stories shared on Sunday, June 1, 2025, the Rich Beauty founder accused parents who have children without financial planning of subjecting them to unnecessary suffering.
“Adults who have kids without planning, y’all are wicked! ’Cause the shit y’all make kids go through growing up just to survive is not it!” Huddah wrote.
She insisted that raising children should only come after achieving financial stability, urging people to secure their children’s futures before bringing them into the world.
“Get money – have kids. Create a trust fund for them,” she said.

Reflecting on her own life, Huddah noted that she was once innocent and undeserving of the struggles she faced growing up. She implied that better preparation by her parents could have given her a head start in life.
“I should’ve been running my parents’ empire right about now,” she added.
Parenting and poverty
This is not the first time the former reality TV star has called out what she sees as careless parenthood. In June 2024, she shared similar sentiments, encouraging Africans to take a page from white communities when it comes to raising families.
According to Huddah, many African parents still hold on to the belief that children come with their blessings, a mindset she says is outdated and harmful.
“Most African parents, just like most of you, gave birth in the belief that a child comes with their blessings and their plate that you didn’t prepare for,” she said at the time.
She urged people to do away with what she described as a poverty mentality that keeps generations locked in financial struggle.
“That poverty mentality needs to be eradicated from the face of the earth now. Most parents are ageing, some of their 40-year-old children barely made it yet outta the poverty they grew up in ‘cause of unplanned parenthood,” she said
She went further to highlight how this cycle continues, as financially unprepared children grow up and have more unplanned children, all while trying to support their ageing parents, often battling with debts, medical bills, and basic living costs.
“When will this man or woman ever make it? Probably never! Then he dies poor ‘cause bills have finished him, plus borrowing and debt, then the cycle continues,” she lamented.
The outspoken beauty entrepreneur believes that the only way to change this narrative is through strategic planning and financial discipline.
“Tell me why white communities will never be ahead. They plan for generations to come before having kids. Africans should do better. Say no to black tax,” she concluded.
