The 35 -year -old was arrested on Friday afternoon, May 30, and is currently detained at Pangani police station.
His arrest came just one day after printing a tweet on his X account, informing Kenyans of the site he had created.
The site allowed users to reject the 2025 financial bill for easy clicking, thus creating great attention before making him a blockade.
“Hi #Kot #KenyansontWitter, I wrote a simple program that allows you to reject the 2025 cash bill by just clicking once. Njeri said.
Responding to the call for his release, Kenya’s lawyer president Faith Odhiambo said they were able to meet Njeri after a long process.
“The @lawsocietyofke received many sad calls from the people involved in the illegal arrest of Mrs. Rose Njeri yesterday afternoon. Odhiambo said.
Odhiambo added that despite the great and sustainable efforts of him and the team of dedicated lawyers from Lsktheir attempts to seek Njeri’s release of bail eventually were unsuccessful.
He expressed sadness at the decision but vowed to continue to follow legal means to ensure that the rights are protected.
“All efforts to be released on police bail have so far been disappointed by the officers in charge of the case, who have not yet accepted the lawyer’s application to release him. Our team continued to watch the police station until midnight, and I spoke to @rtunguru who gave me information about what happened,” He said.
“By the way things are, we are still going on with the issue and we expect Rose to be released and return home with his family.
